Fat Fueled Chai Nightcap
In addition to starting your morning with Bulletproof Coffee or Tea, it’s a good idea to end your day with a powerful beverage to help you sleep through the night. While most people see improvement in their sleep by going low carb, a few people embarking on a Ketogenic diet may experience leg cramps at night, and trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. If this happens to you, make sure there is enough good salt in your diet, make sure you are eating enough, make sure you are spending enough time outside to keep your circadian rhythm balanced and make sure you’ve assessed whether you are digesting properly.
This Fat Fueled Night Cap has the option to add Sea Salt to ensure there are enough electrolytes in your diet, which will solve any problem with leg cramps. If you don’t like the salt in it then add your salt to a glass of warm water. You also have the option to add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup to aid in sleep.
Fat Fueled Chai Nightcap
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups almond milk or water
- 1/3 cup coconut milk, full-fat
- 1-2 Tbsp. MCT oil or coconut oil
- ½ tsp. cinnamon
- ½ tsp. cardamom
- ¼ tsp. ginger
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
- Pinch cloves
- 3-4 drops liquid stevia
- ¼ tsp. sea salt
- 1 tbsp raw honey or maple syrup
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan. Heat on medium heat until steaming.
- Pour into a blender or mug. Blend on high for 20 seconds in a blender or froth it with a handheld milk frother. This process disperses the fat molecules for easier digestion and absorption as well as makes it a desirable foamy hot beverage. If using a mug, fill it only halfway to froth and then add the remaining liquid so it doesn’t spill over the top when you froth it.
